Snow Day!

Oh what an AMAZING DAY!

Last night I registered my baby girl for Kindergarten... and then I cried!  No, not really, but I sure wanted to.  I can't believe she is old enough for school.  I told myself after I was done that there would be no more wasted moments... this is my time with her... our time!

Today we woke to a beautiful sunny day... with SNOW!  Finally!  She has wanted to play in that darn snow all winter, and it just wouldn't stay around long enough!  As soon as breakfast was over, she was in her snow clothes and ready to head outside!

I took her picture, sent her out, and sat down at the table to read my scriptures... but my eyes kept drifting to the window to watch her out playing.  I remember the promise I had made to myself, and quickly put on snow clothes to go out and join her!

We played, we made "Snowy" our snowman.  I made a snow angel...Alyssa thought there was too much laying in the snow for that!  I tackled her and tickled her and we giggled until we were cold and decided to come in for hot chocolate (Alyssa's has to be "warm" chocolate, so she doesn't burn her tongue... she doesn't like hot chocolate!!).

It took 47 minutes, and it made my day.  What a fun memory I will have always.  Oh how I hope for so many more memories like these!

My Greatest Blessing

Wake up... It's Sunday!

Get her clean, dry and into her dress. Curl her hair, put on shoes and coat.

Take her to Primary, then Sacrament Meeting, come home.

Cook dinner, eat, read, play, watch a movie.

Bake a cake, lick the beaters, sing to Dad, eat cake.

Play a game, put on jammies, straighten up room.

Say prayers, go potty, get a drink, take medicine and vitamin.

Give her kisses, and hugs.... More kisses and hugs.

Tuck her in, sing a song, turn out the lights.

Watch her sleep.

The greatest gift I have EVER recieved is the gift of being HER MOM.

Weekend Adventures

We had an amazing weekend. Really we did! Many great things happened that made it... Well, amazing!

Utah BEAT Georgia...
And we were there to witness it! What an unbelievable night of gymnastics! I loved spending the evening with John, Judy, Shane, and Alyssa watching our UTES take on the Bolldogs! Not only was the company great... The meet was intense! Such a fun family evening! I am grateful to amazing in laws that don't mind spending time at the events our family loves, just so they can spend time with US! Oh how I love them! (P.S. The UTES are ranked #1 in the country and are simply... INCREDIBLE!




I attended my second Time Out for Women. These conferences are simply amazing. The speakers and musical guests always touch my heart and help the spirit teach me things I am in desperate need of learning! Oh how grateful I am to have amazing friends (Mom, Anita, LaRita, and this time Denise, Diana, & Stephani) who are loving and supportive and who enjoy attending these uplifting events as mush as I do!

Testimony Meeting...
Sometimes they are good, sometimes they are dull, but sometimes... Like yesterday's, they are charged with the spirit and I can close my eyes and feel it rush around my heart in an undescribable fashion. I am so very grateful for those meetings and the feelings they invoke inside of me.

Super Bowl Sunday,
Which kinda sucked because it was the NY Giants (boo) and the New England Patriots (double boo). Very uninteresting to me... BUT it did allow for a wonderful day of REST with my GREAT husband and little princess. Anyday that I get to do that is a GREAT DAY!

Not to mention, a drop by from Grandpa, Nana, and Ty! I think they came to visit, but maybe they just came because we has told them about the new Dianeyland app in the iPad.. Which is AWESOME, and they wanted to play with it! I think the pictures would say it was the latter! All the same, we were able to visit with them (well, a little!...) and that is always fun.

This weekend I am grateful for FAMILY, I am grateful for GOOD FRIENDS, and I am grateful for the presence of the SPIRIT in my life. Our family is so blessed!

Ode to Thursdays!

At our house, we LOVE Thursdays!  For many different reasons!

For Alyssa it is:
-A School Day
-Ballet Class
-(Almost Always) Play Date with Mylee

For her Mom it is:
-Quiet time to clean the house
-Grey's Anatomy (Smiley Face here!)
-Private Practice (Double Smiley Face!!)

However, for the past couple of days Alyssa has been fighting a fever and a terrible cough.  Her poor coughs could be heard throughout the house all night long, so instead of school, I let her sleep in.  This is how she started her day!

Needless to say, after a day of rest, she was feeling better and thought she was up to going to ballet class!  I drove two VERY HAPPY little girls to ballet class (Lance & Jill are on vacation so the girls haven't seen each other for almost a week!).  They danced, they giggled, and then we came home!  After a couple of hours of playing, Alyssa seems to be feeling better!

Now it's Mom's turn.  I am headed to fold laundry and watch TV.  Best day ever!
